The Idrisids: Morocco's First Islamic Dynasty

Before the great empires of the Almoravids and Almohads, before the Saadians and Alaouites, there was Idris ibn Abdallah — a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad who fled the Abbasid caliphate and founded the first Islamic dynasty in Morocco.
